"LIFETIME WARRANTIES"
We feel that a "Lifetime Warranty" is a
Marketing Gimmick. First of all what is a Lifetime? How is it measured?. Make sure that you read the small print from anyone who offers this warranty and remember, everthing wears out in time. Isn't it interesting that you can get a lifetime warranty on a $35.00 chair, but you cannot get one on a $70,000.00 vehicle. Again, read the small print.
Consider Stackable Sanctuary Chairs. Some companies advertise a 20 year, 25 year or Lifetime warranty. You will find that such long term warranties do not cover normal wear and tear. If a chair is going to fail it will generally do so within the first 3 months of use. These catastrophic breakdowns are usually restricted to weld failure or the connection of the seat and back to the frame. Actually, not much else can fail.
At classroom Essentials Online our Sanctuary chairs are produced to minimize the opportunity for failure in the two areas mentioned previously. Our seats and backs are fastened to the frame using T-NUT construction (a nut is imbedded into the plywood base of the seat and back and a matching screw then passes throught the frame and is threaded into the nut). Wood screws do not have the long term strength of T-NUTS. All our welds are MIG welds. This process transforms the junction of two pieces of steel into one piece of steel, making it virtually unbreakable. Now and then a "cold weld" (insuffiecient dwell time creating the weld joint) will occurr.
A frame with a cold weld will fail, and probably do so within the first 3 months of use.
One other area of consideration would be the longevity of the business. Most people and companies are in and out of business every 1 to 3 years. What happens to your LIFETIME WARRANTY if the company goes out of business. Make sure that you ask that question.
We have been in business since 1985, therefore, we feel comfortable with the long term stability that we offer.
